Prof Hussein Solomon is Senior Professor at thhe Centre for Gender and Africa Studies, University of the Free State. He is also a Visiting Professor at Osaka University in Japan, a Visiting Professor in the Department of History and Politics at Nelson Mandela University, a Visiting Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Military Science at Stellenbosch University, and an Extraordinary Professor at the School of Government at North West University. He is also a Senior Research Associate of the Jerusalem-based think tank Research on Islam and Muslims in Africa. His research focuses on Terrorism in Africa and Political Islam.
